Special Workshop Weekend with Ani Fuller and Ekow Oduro

Evolve West Coast Swing have been running regular classes in Milton Keynes since May 2018, quickly growing a fantastic and super friendly local WCS community. We are therefore extremely excited to be able to help grow the dance in the UK even further by bringing you a special weekend with the incredible Ani Fuller and Ekow Oduro, for a Weekend of Intensive Workshops in Milton Keynes on 10th-11th August 2019.

The classes will be levelled and progressive throughout the weekend so please be aware that you must be comfortable with all of your fundamental West Coast Swing basics to attend.

There will be limited spaces for this event so make sure you get in there quick!

Ani Fuller

Ani Fuller is one of New Zealand’s most cherished and renowned West Coast Swing teachers and dancers. As New Zealand’s first, and highest ranked All-Star, she regularly travels, teaches and performs throughout New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Korea, Brazil, the UK, the USA, and is now excited to join us in Europe!

Ani started dancing Ballet from a very young age, before moving on to multiple partner dances and in turn finding a love for West Coast Swing. Ani is known for her breathtaking style that is elegant, smooth and often playful.

Ani has a passion for creating genuine connection with her partner and holding a true conversation on the dance floor. Her down to earth approach and focus on partnership has made her one of Australasia's most sought after instructors. She is both a pleasure to watch and dance with!

Ani’s has coached students to achieve great success through placing in Pro-Am routines in both at the US Open and throughout Australia.

Ani was the founder of Street Swing, a WCS Dance Studio in Auckland, New Zealand, and she also runs New Year’s Summer Swing Camp in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful regions, Taupo.

Ekow Oduro

Joining Ani teaching for the weekend will be our home grown superstar Ekow Oduro! A regular on the UK and European scene, Ekow competes at the All Star Level and is one of the UK's most successful, creative and stylish leaders.

With a background of Salsa, Modern Jive, Zouk and West Coast Swing he has a wealth of experience to offer.

Please make sure you arrive early so that we have time to check everyone in as we will start the workshops promptly.

Note

It is very unlikely that there will be any tickets available on the door for either the workshops or social dances and therefore please book in advance to secure your place.

The Venue will be at our weekly Tuesday class venue, the beautiful Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill, Milton Keynes:

The venue is easily accessible from junction 14 off the M1, and just a few miles from Milton Keynes Central Train Station.

Please note that the theatre is located within a community for people with learning disabilities and other special needs, so please respect those living on site with regard to noise etc. when entering/leaving the venue.

Parking

There are 2 free on-site Car Park locations as shown on the picture. Please follow the ‘Evolve Swing’ signs and only use the side entrance to the Theatre by following the path alongside the fence indicated by the arrow on the picture.

In the event that both on-site car parks are full you can also utilise the overflow parking over the road in the Peace Pagoda Car Park. However, Please note that the Peace Pagoda Car Park is Pay and Display.

There may also be some roadside parking, but please do not park within any of the nearby residents car parks.

Accommodation

If you are looking to stay over in the area there are several hotels nearby, so loads to chose from! However, the closest and the one we’d recommend if prices are reasonable would be the Premier Inn Milton Keynes East (overlooking Willen Lake).
